Our Mission
Leaena's mission is to create high-quality, sustainable clothing for people of all shapes, sizes, and skin tones, while learning from the past to sew for the future.
Our Values
The People: First and foremost, we strive to create products that our customers love. That's why we design our clothes with multiple body types in mind and place emphasis on maintaining personal and helpful customer service.
The Product: We use high-quality materials and construct our garments with a unique blend of historical and couture sewing methods for maximum quality, durability, and comfort.
The Process: Sustainability is important to us here at Leaena. That's why we use fabrics and threads composed of natural fibers, such as cotton, which are eco-friendly and biodegradable. Cutting fabric for garments inevitably leaves behind several small pieces. We use these pieces to create scrunchies, rather than scrap them, to reduce our waste.
We also believe it's important that our customers know exactly where their clothes are coming from, which is why we are transparent about our suppliers and production process. We purchase supplies that are made ethically and as sustainably as possible.
Our Products
We base our production process on tried and true concepts from throughout centuries prior to widespread industrialization. We then combine these concepts with the techniques used in couture fashion for our own unique method that prioritizes quality results over saving time, and never cut corners.
We use French seams and Flat-felled seams and hems which completely enclose seam allowances and raw edges, as opposed to overcasting or serging, to ensure that fabric does not unravel or fray. We also use S-Curve sleeves to allow for increased mobility.
We pre-wash all of our fabric using the same washing machine and dryer settings we recommend for the finished garments. This process is sometimes also called pre-shrinking because it allows for fabrics that are prone to shrinking or warping to do so before it is cut and sewn, so that your garment does not shrink when you wash and dry it.
Our Future
Here at Leaena it is imperative to us that we're always growing and always improving. We plan to expand to offer new products soon. In the meantime, please let us know how we're doing or tell us how we can improve by contacting us at leaena.contact@gmail.com or on social media. As always, we value your feedback and support. Thank you for shopping with Leaena!
